After only a few girls turned up for a pathetic meeting, we headed to Al-Qader. Ok, so there's Fid, Jaja & myself. Konon nk discuss set. Ok,we did. But something captured my attention. It's been there for so long.. And i have been wondering about it for so long.. I wondered, what is in the building.. I see people come and go, if it's an office, wah.. the employer must be damn lucky to have employees going back at late hours...The building laid stagnant. No lights or whatsoever. Just the buildings, and there's even a carpark. It couldn't be some welfare association, could it?
Here I am, to present my findings about SSA (aka Singapore SOKA Association) . Call me lembab or dumb, doesn't matter. Now I know what SOKA does. Depicted from its website, SOKA is a Buddhist organisation established to promote understanding and practice of Buddhism. SSA was officially registered in 1972 with the Registry of Societies.
"Nichiren Buddhist philosophy teaches that every individual has the potential to become enlightened in his or her lifetime. Each person has within, the power to overcome life's challenges, to live a life of value and be a positive influence in one's community, society and the world. Nichiren Buddhism is derived from the Lotus Sutra, the epitome teaching of Shakyamuni Buddha that affirms the universal Buddha nature in all people. " .. ouh kisahnyer....
And, soka in Chinese means value creation. How cool. Kire, kalau Muslim ada MUIS, buddhist ada SOKA. Eh, Fid, Jaja!!! Aku dah tau ape dorang buat arh.. Tapi aku masih tak tau ape kat dalam. Mau check it out pe?? Tapi aku condiferrent, ade wak buddha tuh. Ape egh name dier? Ntah arh.. AKu mane geng dier..Aku ajak lari2, dier asek nk duduk jer..
Eh, tak sangka egh, dalam diamnya building tu, dia ader kene-mengena ngan Singapore INternational Foundation, Ministry of Community Devt Youth & Sports, National Youth Council.. Bagui arh dorang ni.. Patotla salu balik lmbt jer...
Alas, I learnt something new about other religion.
